Erica Carr - Head of School
Erica is leading Chicago Christian Academy as Head of School out of a heart for the discipleship of young people and greater educational opportunities for families in Chicago. After graduating from Northwestern University, she began working for Athletes in Action (AIA), a collegiate Christian ministry, in Chicago. Later she launched and led AIA-New Orleans on three campuses. After moving back to Chicago, she began working in development at By The Hand Club for Kids, where she led the strategy for engagement with new partners as part of the 15M annual fundraised budget. Erica and her husband, Austin have a passion to see children discipled holistically - intellectually, socially, physically, and spiritually. They believe Chicago Christian Academy will help provide this for their own 3 sons and many children throughout Chicago.

Ryan Hutton currently serves as the Director of Facilities at Park Community Church where he also manages events and strategic partnerships to further the church's mission. Previously, Ryan worked for over 7 years as consultant in the healthcare and technology sectors. He also spent several years as a director for two social impact ventur
Ryan Hutton currently serves as the Director of Facilities at Park Community Church where he also manages events and strategic partnerships to further the church's mission. Previously, Ryan worked for over 7 years as consultant in the healthcare and technology sectors. He also spent several years as a director for two social impact ventures that provided job opportunities for the marginalized. His wife, Kristina Hutton, has worked for Chicago Public Schools as a counselor for 12 years, and she has her Masters of Education in Counseling. They have a 2-year-old son who they hope will receive an exceptional education that supports their Christian worldview.

Raef Chenery has served as the Pastor of Park Community Church South Loop since 2014. Prior to serving as a Pastor, he worked as a Senior Project Manager and Strategist in the tech industry of Chicago as well as a missionary in Thailand. He studied business as an undergrad at Indiana University, completed a Masters of Divinity at Moody Se
Raef Chenery has served as the Pastor of Park Community Church South Loop since 2014. Prior to serving as a Pastor, he worked as a Senior Project Manager and Strategist in the tech industry of Chicago as well as a missionary in Thailand. He studied business as an undergrad at Indiana University, completed a Masters of Divinity at Moody Seminary, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry from Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary. His wife, Sara Chenery, serves as an elementary school teacher. Sara has also overseen Park Community Church's Adoption Fund, and has been a primary catalyst to help families take steps into foster and adoption care across the city.

Prior to By the Hand Club, Erica lived in New Orleans, LA with her husband, Austin Carr, who played for the New Orleans Saints.

Prior to By the Hand Club, Erica lived in New Orleans, LA with her husband, Austin Carr, who played for the New Orleans Saints. While in New Orleans, Erica launched an Athletes in Action campus ministry where she led a team to reach three campuses in the city serving hundreds of athletes and coaches. Campus ministry developed a passion for quality Christian education to combat the lies of many modern educational systems. She and her husband Austin now have three young boys and desire to create a place for them to grow into faithful and wise young men.

Chicago Christian Academy is a partner school with Concordis Education Partners. Concordis partners with school start-ups and existing schools in Christian and Classical Education. They train master teachers in the classroom to cultivate students in rigor and mercy, provide academic advising in solid pedagogy, and streamline administrative services. Beyond consulting, they implement student management, marketing, human resources, bookkeeping, and more. We work with their administrative team and their team of consultants who all have decades of experience as teachers and heads of schools.

Chicago Christian Academy went through the ACCS accelerator program in 2023 and is a launching member school. The ACCS was established in 1994 and stands as the largest accrediting body for Classical Christian schools. As an accelerator member, Chicago Christian Academy has access to all member resources and advising from ACCS leadership.

Gene Liechty is the director of advancement at Sandhills Classical Christian School in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Prior to this, he served in a similar capacity at Cary Christian School in Cary, North Carolina and Logos School in Moscow, Idaho. Gene has also planted/pastored several churches in the Communion of Reformed Evangelical Churches (CREC) over the past twenty years.
